Dr. Gil Orion joined FBC in January 2002 as a partner in its litigation, corporate, and regulatory practice areas. Dr. Orion's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, class actions and derivative suits. Dr. Orion's clients include major pharmaceutical companies (Merck & Co., Lundbeck), telecommunications companies (Barak 013, one of Israel's long-distance telephone companies), infrastructure companies (Vivendi/Veolia, United Pan-Europe Communications), Israeli governmental entities (Bank of Israel, Mekorot - the Israeli national water company), major Israeli insurance companies (Menora, Migdal and Clal Insurance), leading Israeli financial services and industrial corporations (Gmul Investments, Nesher (Israel's largest cement company)), high net worth individuals, a variety of international companies involved in Israeli-related commercial disputes, and the Israel Bar Association.
Prior to joining FBC, Dr. Orion was a partner at a leading Tel Aviv litigation firm.
Dr. Orion did his doctoral studies at Harvard University Law School in the areas of corporate law and securities regulation, and received his doctorate in 1996. Dr. Orion graduated cum laude from the Tel Aviv University Law School in 1989. He has also served as an assistant lecturer for contract law and held the position of editor and member of the editorial board of the Tel Aviv University Law Review. Dr. Orion served for five years in the Israel Defense Forces, where he holds the rank of Captain. |
