Prof. Shahar Lifshitz is a consultant in the Private Clients and Family & Inheritance Disputes practice.

Prof. Lifshitz provides unique legal advice in connection with leading and planning complex intergenerational transfer processes - including managing family crises and determining a strategy for managing disputes and accompanying hearings in the various courts.

Prof. Lifshitz, who serves as professor at the Faculty of Law at Bar-Ilan University, is one of the leading experts in Israel in the field of family and inheritance law. Over the years, he has gained a reputation as a respected researcher in his field, and his studies dealing with family law, contract law and inheritance law have formed the basis of bills in the field. Among his many accomplishments, Prof. Lifshitz is one of the founders of the amendment to the Financial Assets Agreement Law and the Law for the Division of Retirement Savings Between Spouses Who Have Separated, as well as the originator of the "Spousal Covenant" concept. Prof. Lifshitz advises the Ministry of Justice regarding necessary amendments to the Inheritance Law and to alimony laws. To top it all off, Prof. Lifshitz was a candidate for the Supreme Court.

In addition to his academic activities, he has over the years provided strategic legal advice in family cases, some of Israel’s most complex. Between the years 2012-2017, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Law at Bar-Ilan University (currently a professor), and he also serves as head of the Menomadin Center for Jewish and Democratic Law and one of the founders of the Israeli Congress.
