Shirly Kazir

Ms. Kazir is the head of FBC’s Aviation & Maritime and Hotels & Tourism practices, and her diverse practice ranges from commercial litigation, with particular expertise in aviation and maritime disputes, to commercial transactional matters involving IP rights, contractual claims and commercial law.

Ms. Kazir represents major foreign airlines and foreign airline insurance companies in a variety of areas related to international aviation law. She advises on domestic Israeli legislation such as the Israeli Aviation Services Law, as well as on worldwide developments in the field of aviation and on pending changes to global aviation treaties that have a direct impact on Israeli legislation, including the Warsaw and Montreal Conventions and the EU Aviation regulations.

Ms. Kazir also specializes in maritime transport law, and represents multinational corporations in commercial disputes relating to the international carriage of cargo via marine transport.

Ms. Kazir has extensive experience in representing international and domestic corporations, in patent, trademark and copyright infringement proceedings and passing-off actions before the Israel Patents and Trademarks Office, notably in the field of pharmaceuticals.

Ms. Kazir also has extensive international connections and affiliations in the aviation industry both in the private sector as well as the regulatory sector and she takes part in international conferences relating to aviation law.

Ms. Kazir serves as an external IATA instructor in the "International Air Law" course, which is conducted in Israel and Europe and earmarked for attorneys and in-house counsel from around the globe. Ms. Kazir is a member in the Israeli Bar Association in relation to International matters, as well as a member in the International Aviation Women Association.

Prior to joining FBC, Ms. Kazir served as a senior associate in the transportation department of a leading Tel Aviv law firm (2005-2014), and as a teaching and research assistant in torts, philosophy of law and civil law at the College of Management, Rishon Lezion.
