On March 17, 2020, the Ministry of Transportation submitted a proposal to amend the law with respect to compensation for flight cancellation or change of terms, in response to the current situation caused by the coronavirus outbreak and the crisis that airlines are experiencing due to the fall in demand for flights and flight cancellations.

ביום 17.3.2020 הוגשה על ידי משרד התחבורה הצעת חוק לתיקון הוראת שעה לפי חוק שירותי תעופה (פיצוי וסיוע בשל ביטול טיסה או שינוי בתנאיה), במסגרתה מוצע להתאים את החוק למצב הנוכחי שנגרם עקב התפשטות מגפת הקורונה והמשבר אליו נקלעו חברות התעופה, לנוכח הירידה שחלה בביקוש הטיסות וביטולי הטיסות שנגרמו עקב כך.
